Preservation Week: Save Your Stuff and Pass It On
You’re invited to celebrate Preservation Week with the Libraries from April 24-28! Events throughout the week will include a presentation on digital preservation, webinars on preservation-related topics, and a documentary film screening on a major disaster and how the conservation community responded. Stay tuned for event details, and in the meantime, don’t forget that YOU play an important role in preserving the Libraries’ collections!

All In For Arkansas Was An All-Out Success!

Will Work For Ice Cream
We’re celebrating National Library Workers Day next Tuesday, April 11 with ICE CREAM at 2 p.m. in the break room, followed by the announcement of our award winners at 2:30.

Meet Education Librarian Laura Cameron
Originally from Clinton, Missouri, Laura moved to Fayetteville from Chicago’s far-north suburbs. She earned her Master of Information Studies degree at the University of Texas at Austin, and also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Mizzou.

Three Weird Questions:

  1. What book are you currently reading?

I am currently re-reading the fourth A Song of Ice and Fire book, A Feast for Crows, by George R.R. Martin. The books are so dense that I feel like I’m experiencing parts of the story for the very first time, which is really enjoyable.

  1. What’s your favorite guilty pleasure when it comes to candy?

Cadbury Crème Egg cupcakes. Decadent, delicious, and deliciously rich. (It counts as candy if it’s candy inside a baked good, right?)

  1. What’s the best live entertainment you’ve ever seen?

My Nana and I took a week-long trip to NYC in the spring of 2014 and I talked her into seeing The Book of Mormon on Broadway. The show was absolutely amazing, but the best part was definitely sneaking peaks to see my 80 year old grandmother’s reactions to some of the songs. I hadn’t warned her at all about the content, but she ended up loving it! It was such a memorable experience!

Laura will be working with the College of Education and Health Professions students and faculty. She hopes to hit the ground running! Be sure to stop by 223E in Mullins and say hello!
