Chancellor Steinmetz + @OpenUARK = Twitter pals for life!
The Open Scholarship Twitter butterfly, @OpenUARK (alias: Michelle Gibeault), fluttered up to New York for the Libraries and Archives in the Anthropocene conference over the weekend. In a moment of bold entreaty, she sought out Chancellor Steinmetz for an affirmation of the need for Open Access, which becomes even more pertinent in our moment of ecological peril. He kindly answered and followed back… What could it mean? Maybe he just loves butterflies.

Melody Herr gives a shout out to Ila Irizarry. Once again, she did a wonderful job of ordering regalia for the faculty who wanted to attend commencement.
Kathleen Lehman gives a shout out to the full-time staff of User Services who worked extra time over the past two weeks to allow for extended and around the clock hours in Mullins so students could have space to study (and sleep) in preparation for their finals.
