Welcome, Witness!
I [Witness Martin] was born in Windhoek, Namibia. Completed my BSc in Engineering from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and moved to the United States in 2015 on a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue an MSc degree in Electrical Engineering. I am currently enrolled in the MicroEP PHD program.
Three Weird Questions:
Name one short-term goal.
Complete my PhD degree program, and visit the rest of the continents I haven’t been to yet. Namely: Australia, South America and Antarctica. And get a dog.
What book are you currently reading?
Busy reading this truly amazing book called “Semiconductor device fundamentals” by Dr. Robert F. Pierret for one of my academic courses, because graduate students don’t have time to read for leisure.
If a genie gave you a wish, what would you wish for?
A noble prize worth a modest $500 Billion for solving the world’s energy woes after I invent the worlds most efficient and most effective energy storage system.
Alongside Dr. Salisbury and the rest of the team here in the Chemistry library, I will expertly dedicate the greater part of my work hours to helping patrons find and gain access to all the chemistry and biochemistry literature their healthy curious minds desire.

This research guide has been resurrected! Librarians will notice that the “Feed lists” page is pretty short and sweet; if there is something someone would like to recommend, Michelle Gibeault is willing and eager to add items that others suggest.
