Mullins Renovation Update

Mullins Renovation Update

While you were away, we had a busy summer here in Mullins Library.

Requesting from the Library Annex

Our new, high-density annex is now open and delivering materials several times a day to the main campus.

See our instructions for requesting materials from the library annex.

Where is the Performing Arts and Media Department?

To prepare for renovation, most audio and video materials were moved to the off-site annex. These are still available for checkout and can still be requested through the library catalog

Musical scores are being moved into the main library collection on Level 1.

Performing Arts and Media reference materials are now housed with other reference collections on the Lobby Level.

Services, viewing equipment and reserve materials formerly housed in the Performing Arts and Media department are being moved to the Lindley and Kaneaster Hodges, Jr. Periodicals Room on the Lobby Level.

Where are the Government Documents and Maps?

Some depository U.S. documents were moved to the off-site annex, some are being temporarily housed in a staff-only area in Mullins, and other collections can now be found on Level 3 east.

Government reference and noncirculating materials such as the Congressional Record and Census volumes are housed with other reference materials on the Lobby Level.

U.S. Documents microfilm, fiche, and optical disks are split between the Lindley and Kaneaster Hodges, Jr., Periodicals Room on the Lobby Level and the off-site library annex.

Maps are split between the Lindley and Kaneaster Hodges, Jr., Periodicals Room on the Lobby Level and the off-site library annex.

Library catalog records are still being updated for all these collections so please ask us if you are not sure how to locate the item you need.

Graduate Carrels

Individual graduate carrels are no longer available. The renovation will involve the west side of Levels 3 and 4 and may begin as early as late fall. The graduate study room on Level 4 west is still available; keys may be checked out at the main service desk.
