Research Misconduct Webinar Tomorrow
Join Melody Herr, head of the Office of Scholarly Communications, for the webinar Research Misconduct: Definitions, Causes, and Responses from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11. The webinar is offered at no cost to attendees.
Welcome, Kelli!
Short Bio: I am a mother of two great kiddos, a wife of 21 years, a member of the Quapaw Nation and a graduate of the University of Arkansas. I am definitely an Arkansas girl!
Three Weird Questions:
What book are you currently reading?
I just finished reading Killers of the Flower Moon, The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann
What’s your favorite guilty pleasure when it comes to candy?
Hands down, Peanut M&M’s
What’s the best live entertainment you’ve ever seen?
The best entertainment I have seen would have to be a Professional Bull Riding event in Oklahoma City. Pyrotechnics and bulls pair well together and make for great live entertainment. Throw in the best rodeo clown in the business (Flint) and you have a show!
I love to be a part of such a great team! Helping to raise monies for the future growth of our libraries is a great way to spend my workdays.
Be sure to stop by MULN 226 and say hi! Kelli can also be reached at knixon@uark.edu or 5-5574.
Digital Collections Website Migration
The digital collections website has migrated from the current platform to “responsive design,” the new OCLC platform.
According to OCLC, “The responsive CONTENTdm website to provide end users an efficient experience when exploring your collections. On smart phones, tablets and workstations, user will have fewer clicks, faster content delivery, and a better user experience, including those with limited vision or hearing.
As the collection manager, the responsive CONTENTdm website:
- boosts your site’s search engine ranking because it provides mobile support
- secures your digital collections and maintains user privacy
- supports WCAG accessibility compliance so everyone can access to your collections
- speeds content to users
- showcases your collections using innovations developed by the IIIF community
- provides new methods for secure JavaScript and style-sheet customizations.”
Everyone is welcome to the new website at: https://digitalcollections.uark.edu/
I am using this opportunity to thank Beth Juhl, Dylan Hurd, and Trent Garner for years of working with the planning and customizations of this migration. –Martha Anderson

Shout Out (n.) informal. A message of congratulation, support or appreciation.
Kathleen Lehman, head of User Services, would like to give a shout out to the presenters of the User Services Summer Training Series: Matthew Kelly, Kelvin Summerville, Olivia Wood, David Boddie, and Sherryl Faulkner-Robinson. Each of the presenters did a great job of sharing their experience and knowledge with session attendees, and it is this training which makes us better prepared to serve our patrons and ultimately improve their overall library experience.
She would also like to give a shout out to the Help-a-Hog and Hill Fest volunteers: Sarah Spiegel, Necia Parker-Gibson, Tony Stankus, Deb Kulczak, Mikey King, Renee Tobin, Bridget Penrose, Katrina Windon, Melanie Griffin, Jay McAllister, Alyssa Willis, Janell Prater, Chelsea Hoover, Amy Allen, Kelsey Lovewell, Stephanie Guenther, Laura Cameron, Lindsey Williams, Guillermo Pupo Pernet, Beth Juhl, and Cedar Middleton. These fine folks took time out of their busy start-of-the-semester schedules to help lost hogs find their way to class and introduce the libraries to students from across campus. Thank you!
