Dialogue with Scholarly Communications
Learn what’s new, share your recommendations and hear about improvements Thursday, Oct. 24 from 10-11 a.m. in Mullins Room 104.
Spotlight on Student Media
You’re invited to Spotlight Student Media, an Archives Month event, Tuesday, Oct. 29. From 4:30-5:30, drop in to the Digital Services Unit to check out the progress they’ve made digitizing the U of A yearbooks and student newspaper. Then at 5:30, head over to the Special Collections Reading Room for a panel discussion with campus media leaders.
Fall Teambuilding Event
The Staff Concerns Committee invites all library personnel to the 2019 annual Fall Team-Building Event, which will take place in the break room of Mullins on Thursday, October 31st from 12:30-2:30pm. There will be food and door prizes. There is a food sign-up sheet on the fridge in the break room for anybody who wishes to volunteer to bring food to this event.
United Way
This year’s United Way campaign will only last for two weeks instead of our typical month. Make your impact at unitedway.uark.edu to support local programs that benefit children and families. Be sure to follow the campaign on Facebook and Twitter, and post your support using the hashtag #UARKunited.

Amigos Online Conference
The Amigos online conference Healthy Habits – Cultivating a Culture of Health and Wellness in Libraries and Communities will be offered Thursday, October 10, from 10:00 to 4:00 in Room 302B. Graduate Student Speaker Series
Will Teague, a doctoral candidate in history, will present “Deportation as Diplomacy: Carter and the US-Iranian Relationship” at 5 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Special Collections reading room.
