International Love Data Week will be observed Feb. 12-16 this year, and the theme is “My Kind of Data.” The University Libraries will host a candy-themed pop-up event from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, on Level 4 of Mullins Library. Interactive posters related to data visualization will be displayed on Level 4 of Mullins throughout the week, and a free, online course will be made available to the public through the libraries’ Data Visualization research guide.
“Love Data Week is an international recognition that the world is made of data and that we are a part of that world,” said Lora Lennertz, director for Open Education, Data and Publishing Services. “This year’s theme is My Kind of Data, calling us to make the world a better place through our knowledge and appropriate use of the data we touch.”
The new Data Visualization course will cover what data visualization means, how to interpret it, visual principles and properties, the key types of data visualization and more.
