The University of Arkansas Libraries Digital Collections offer access to a variety of digital materials pertaining to the University of Arkansas. There are old pictures, pamphlets, bulletins and more relating to the university and the state of Arkansas.

My favorite collection is Spaces and Faces. In this collection, you’ll find pictures of people and places at the university. There are pictures of old buildings that either no longer exist or have been renovated, great candid pictures of students, and facts about buildings and residence halls. The images and information in this collection were digitized from the University of Arkansas Libraries Special Collections department.

The site also offers in-depth and educational collections like Land of (Unequal) Opportunity. This collection documents the civil rights struggle in Arkansas and has a variety of records and photographs about the history of the civil rights movement and the Arkansas prison camps Japanese Americans were in during World War II. There are also truths about the struggles homosexual Arkansans and Spanish-speaking immigrants face – which both bring their own civil rights issues.

Architecture students can delve deeper in their field by looking at the Cyrus Sutherland Papers. This digital exhibit highlights Cyrus Sutherland’s work as an architect and University of Arkansas professor.
