The latest exhibit from Special Collections, on view in the Walton Reading Room, helps document KUAF’s early years as a 10-watt student radio station supervised by a faculty member in the 1970s, through the last 30 years as our area’s NPR affiliate. KUAF now operates at 100,000 watts at a state-of-the-art facility, serving 14 counties in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.

The exhibit features artifacts on loan from the KUAF studios, including some of the older technology they once used, microphones used in broadcasting, and the wooden chicken used to collect trivia contestant names.

The exhibit is curated by Cat Wallack with assistance from Amy Allen.  KUAF is donating scrapbooks and program guides to Special Collections.
