The University Libraries Office of Scholarly Communications and the Honors College invite all honors undergraduate students to an in-person open house event called The Final Countdown. There are two opportunities to attend: from 2:30-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in Mullins Library 410, and from 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in Gearhart Hall 130.
Students can drop by to learn about the U of A’s institutional repository, ScholarWorks@UARK, and receive information about submitting their honors thesis. Underclassmen are also welcome to stop by and ask questions about research.
Jay McAllister, Honors College librarian, will be present to answer any questions, along with Chelsea Hodge, Honors College director of grants and research innovation. No appointment is necessary. Refreshments will be provided.
“We believe that undergraduate research is at the core of the Honors experience,” said J. Laurence Hare, executive director of undergraduate excellence and global engagement at Fulbright College, and Jill Geisler Wheeler, director of honors learning at Fulbright College. “ScholarWorks@UARK gives all students the opportunity to share their work so that the rest of the campus and beyond can benefit from it. In this way, student research contributes to the larger mission of the University of Arkansas, to discover and develop new knowledge and make it available for the benefit of all.”
ScholarWorks@UARK highlights a growing collection of student work, faculty publications, presentations and teaching materials. The U of A is committed to disseminating its research and scholarship as widely as possible.
