The University of Arkansas Fayetteville has partnered with four other institutions in the U of A system on a transformative agreement with Elsevier, a global publisher of journals across the sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts.
“Elsevier is one of the largest publishers in the world, and our researchers have frequently inquired about funding for publishing charges,” said Melody Herr, Scholarly Communications librarian. “Now, thanks to my University Libraries colleagues who negotiated the agreement, authors can publish in a selection of Elsevier journals without paying an open access fee.”
Any current employee or student at any of the partner campuses – Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Little Rock, Monticello, UAMS – is eligible for this agreement, as long as they are the primary corresponding author for the article. The authors must agree to make the article open access and assign a Creative Commons license. For more information about the terms of the agreement, please visit theĀ Elsevier agreement webpage.
“We are excited to expand open-access publishing opportunities for our researchers through the Elsevier agreement, a result of strong collaboration across the University of Arkansas System,” said Jessica Morales, associate dean for Collections and Open Initiatives. “It is a meaningful step toward increasing the visibility and impact of our authors’ research.”
