Training Opportunity: Learn How to Use the New Microform Reader
Lynaire Hartsell and Kathleen Lehman invite anyone interested in learning how to operate the new microform reader to join them on Wednesday, August 12th at 9:00am in Periodicals in Mullins Library. Hartsell will cover the basics of how to operate the new machine and answer any questions you might have. If you are unavailable at this time but interested in microform training, please contact either Kathleen Lehman or Lynaire Hartsell to schedule a different time.

Get a Free Copy of Outcasts United: An American Town, A Refugee Team
The One Book One Community selection for fall will be Outcasts United: An American Town, A Refugee Team by Warren St. John. “In several ways this is a perfect choice for One Book, One Community,” said selection committee co-chair Kevin Fitzpatrick. “It’s about a community coming together to deal with change and conflict. Every community in this country faces these kinds of issues.” If you would like a copy of the book, please email Molly Boyd by Friday, 8/14.

Farewell Gathering for Tim Nutt Set for August 14
Please join colleagues from across campus as we offer a fond farewell to Tim Nutt, Head of Special Collections, before he begins his new position with UAMS. See you on 8/14 at 3pm in the Honors College Student Lounge, inside Ozark Hall. Please feel free to contact Valerie Robertson if you have any questions.

It’s. Getting. Real.
You’re likely (frantically?) updating PowerPoints, handouts, and email templates, so it’s a good time to update to the Libraries’ new web address, too. Please change all mentions, bookmarks, and links to: libraries.uark.edu. Although Microsoft Office doesn’t automatically create a live link if you leave off the http, you can go back and create a hyperlink by right-clicking on the highlighted word or phrase you wish to link and choosing Hyperlink.  You can create a live link in Acrobat the same way – just highlight what you want to link, right click, and choose Create Link. Let me know if you have any problems with using linking features or if you have any questions about updating your materials.
