Yearbook Digitization Update 

The University of Arkansas Yearbooks digital collection is now live! Upon completion, there will be 119 books or 45,000 single scans made available. Currently, the digital collection comprises 51 volumes (1897 – 1949) or 15,055 single scans.

 

Crosswalking Metadata

Archivist practitioners, librarians and others who are responsible for normalizing, updating and migrating legacy metadata or interested in repurposing metadata for other systems and projects are invited to attend the SSA session Crosswalking Metadata this Friday, Oct. 4 in Mullins Library. Amigos Online Conference
The Amigos online conference Healthy Habits – Cultivating a Culture of Health and Wellness in Libraries and Communities will be offered Thursday, October 10, from 10:00 to 4:00 in Room 302B.  Everyone is welcome. Graduate Student Speaker Series
Will Teague, a doctoral candidate in history, will present “Deportation as Diplomacy: Carter and the US-Iranian Relationship” at 5 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Special Collections reading room.

The Scholarly Communications Task Force thanks all library faculty and staff who provided comments on the proposed revision of the Open Access Policy and the University Libraries Value Statement, either during the open forum held on 20 September or through the online survey. All comments were kept anonymous, and we’ve now submitted them to Dean Clark.
