Reminder: Special Collections Student Showcase

Come support Special Collections interns Megan York and Sam Ownbey as they present on the work they’ve done for us this semester. Intro to Printmaking students will showcase prints they’ve made using techniques they learned in Special Collections. Tonight at 5 in MULN 130!

Honors Thesis Open House

Honors students are invited to an open house tomorrow from 2-4 in GEAR 258 to learn how to submit their theses to the institutional repository.

The Un-Quiet

Volunteers needed! Use the sign up sheet in the break room to volunteer to work a time slot at The Un-Quiet – Mullins Library’s one and only rowdy event – this Friday.

Graduate Student Speaker Series

Marie Totten, doctoral candidate and GA in History, will present Political Outcast: “Justice Jim” Johnson and Massive Resistance in Arkansas at 5 p.m. Thursday, December 5.

GrantForward: The U of A’s New Funding Search Engine

The University of Arkansas has changed from Pivot to GrantForward as the search engine for funding opportunities and research collaborators. This new service provides expanded capabilities to identify state, federal, foundation and international sources of support for basic grants, contracts, and fellowship applications. It also has profile information for investigators, which may be used to identify potential collaborators at the UA and other institutions.

New Policy: Student Reporters

To reduce the likelihood of being misquoted, which has happened several times recently, it is now Libraries policy to respond to student reporters’ questions exclusively via email. It is our hope that this policy will help them report more accurately.

Shout Out (n.) informal. A message of support, appreciation or congratulation.

Lori Birrell gives a shout out to Dylan Hurd for all of his hard work over the past year to redesign the special collections website, which included changing the site’s navigation and cleaning up ghost pages and legacy databases. Many thank to Dylan and to Beth for their support of this project!
