Learn About RSS Feeds in the Composition Classroom this Thursday
Julia Paganelli from the Creative Writing MFA program, and Michelle Gibeault, English and Communication Librarian, will present an expanded version of their College English Association talk, RSS Feeds in the Composition Classroom, as a workshop this Thursday, April 28 at 3:30pm in Kimpel 314. The presentation will show why RSS works well to connect students to political and social content through socially focused pedagogy. Though methods used in Comp I are the general focus, Paganelli and Gibeault will also discuss progress by Michel LaCrue regarding RSS feeds for Comp II and investigating discourse communities. During the session, they will share methods used and data collected about RSS in Comp I. This is an interactive presentation, so please bring your laptops. Attendees will have the opportunity to create their own RSS feeds.  Thank you, Michelle!

Shout Out (n.) Informal. A message of congratulation, support, or appreciation.
(This is a new, semi-regular feature for the Tuesday Times, proposed by Melody Herr, Head of the Scholarly Communications Office.)  A big thank you to Dylan Hurd, Deb Kulczak, Beth Juhl, and Cedar Middleton, who demonstrated the extraordinary power of teamwork. By bringing together their individual expertise, these four created a method for automatically transferring data from ProQuest directly into the ScholarWorks@UARK database.  This method will replace a formerly manual process and greatly expedite the ingestion of dissertations and theses into the institutional repository. Thank you! Have you noticed someone going the extra mile for a colleague or a patron? Have you seen colleagues demonstrating the team spirit? Give a shout out in the next Tuesday Times.  – submitted by Melody Herr.  Thanks Melody!
