March Madness: SpeColl Edition
With 82 students and 55 users and counting, the Special Collections Department has been a hub of research activity this month. On average the department has taught 4 classes a week in March for art history, landscape architecture, and history faculty and students. Take a look at these photos from last week to see the kinds of activity that came through our doors!

Mandatory Training
What is Discriminatory Harassment?
Presented by Toya Williams, Associate Director/Compliance Officer, Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance
Mullins Library, Room 104
Tuesday, March 27, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

This mandatory training will explain different types of workplace harassment to include what behavior and materials constitute sexual harassment.

We will be offering additional sessions throughout the year in order minimize conflicts with class schedules and department staffing. Please be sure to free up your employees, so they can attend one of the sessions. Employees are authorized to come in outside of their regularly scheduled time to attend this important training. Hourly and work-study employees will need to clock in for the session, and classified staff will need to record this time as work time on their timesheets.

Renovation Open Forums
The Libraries will host 3 open forums to solicit input from the campus community regarding needs and desires for the Mullins Library renovation. All will be located in RCED 202.

Shout Out (n.) Informal. A message of congratulation, support, or appreciation.
Kathleen Lehman, Head of User Services would like to give a big shout out to everyone who has already helped with the pink dot project! Whether you have actually placed a dot on a book or updated an item record in the next step, thank you! As of early Monday afternoon, over 12% of the pink dotting has been completed and four of the subject selectors’ lists have been done.

Sustainability Tip of the Week
Why waste money on plastic containers? You can re-use glass containers for free! Next time you’re about to throw away that pickle jar, burned-out candle, or other type of reusable storage, consider cleaning it and saving it for future use. If you have no use for it, try to recycle.
