The Libraries recently added two new JSTOR segments,Arts and Sciences XI and Arts and Sciences XIII.
The Arts and Sciences XI Collection features a diverse group of humanities titles, with scholarship in History, Language & Literature, and Art & Art History. Interdisciplinary titles broaden the scope of the collection to cover area studies such as American Studies, Asian Studies, Latin American Studies, and African American Studies. With content from fifteen countries, Arts & Sciences XI serves scholars, researchers, and students with an interest in region-based humanities.
Language & literature journals cover a range of subfields, from rhetoric and composition to literary criticism. Of particular note is The American Scholar, published by the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The collection also strengthens JSTOR’s core Language & Literature scholarship with journals such as JAC, The Conradian, Discourse, Studies in the Novel, Marvels & Tales, and the Transatlantic Review. Additional international titles of note areLangages and Langue Française.
Art, architecture, & archaeology publications include theBulletin of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Source: Notes in the History of Art, and the multidisciplinary RSA Journal, published by the Royal Society of Arts for over 200 years. Architecture & Architectural History titles include ANY Magazine, Log, Future Anterior, and AA Files. Scholarship in Archaeology is represented with journals such as Antike Kunst and Studies in Pre-Columbian Art and Archaeology.
History journals examine a broad geographical and chronological range. Notable titles include the Journal of Moravian History, founded in 1858, Eighteenth Century, and Historical Reflections/Reflexions Historiques, which takes an interdisciplinary approach to history. Additionally, the collection features state historical journals and regionally focused titles such as New York History and Southern California Quarterly.
Classical Studies titles includes Latomus, Hermathena, and Rheinisches Museum für Philologie.
Interdisciplinary titles will widen the scope of the collection with area-focused journals such as Bulletin d’études orientales,Asia Major, and Black Scholar.

The Arts and Sciences XIII Collection was launched this year and is still growing. It is expected to offer 124 titles on completion.
Language & Literature titles include Poetica, Western American Literature, and Biography expanding JSTOR’s coverage in underrepresented subdisciplines.
Art & Art History features international coverage, with journals such as Impressions serving scholars of Asian art.
Philosophy journals will span both continental and analytic philosophies, and include notable titles such as Philosophische Rundschau, dedicated to contemporary philosophy in Germany.
Religion titles offer coverage of Christianity studies, with key journals in church history (Archivum Historiae Pontificiae andChurch History and Religious Culture) and religion and philosophy (Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics).

JSTOR is a collection of core journals in the humanities, social sciences, sciences, and mathematics digitized in most cases back to the first date of issue. The University Libraries currently subscribe to the Arts & Sciences I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, XI, and XIII, the Health & General Science, and the Ecology & Botany Collections. Note that most titles are only digitized after an approximate five-year time lag so that journal issues available are not current.
