Gale Access Program Trial

This spring, try out a bounty of research databases from Gale.  Through April 24, the Libraries are offering a trial of the Gale Access Program, a mega collection of almost 50 different Gale databases, covering  the topics of business, health, nursing, technology, humanities, social sciences, sciences and more. Gale Database Name Changes

We’re not sure if Gale is trying to get ready for Real ID or if they just wanted to do a little spring cleaning but—in case you missed it—several Gale resources have enjoyed name changes in 2020.

This database serves as a gateway to several important resources for researching literary criticism, author profiles, and full text of works of fiction, drama, poetry, and .  Make it your first stop when embarking on a new field area of literary inquiry.

Gale LIterature Criticism LogoGale Literary Criticism / Literary Criticism Online is now Gale Literature Criticism

This database offers excerpts of criticism from several different series: Drama Criticism, Poetry Criticism, Shakespeare Criticism, and Short Story Criticism.

This platform hosts dictionaries and encyclopedias, directories, chronologies, and other reference sources purchased by your librarians.

 

Detect a pattern?  We suggest that if you can’t find your favorite database, just put a “Gale” in front of it.

Gale Database Updates

Beyond simple name changes, Gale has been introducing new functionality in 2020.  The new Enhanced Product Interface, which is now live in most literature and humanities databases,  offers a richer, more accurate search experience.

Most databases now offer a consistent toolbar with the most frequently-accessed functions, such as cite, download, link, and email.

“Listen” tools allow you to hear an article or essay read aloud.
