Found the perfect article for your topic? Super!

But it’s only in a print journal in the library collections? Bummer!

Locating articles in print journals can be daunting if you are accustomed to retrieving everything from your keyboard.  Finding an article in a print journal takes time and several steps, including:

  1. Looking up the journal containing the article in the library catalog under journal title.
  2. Making a note of the call number and location of the journal set.
  3. Coming to the owning library when we are open.
  4. Locating the appropriate colume, issue, and date of the journal on the shelves.
  5. Making a scan of the article or, in some cases, checking out the volume to take it home.

The RazorRush Way

But now there’s a better way.  Use our RazorRush Document Delivery service and we’ll scan the article for you and deliver it to your ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan) account.

How does that work?

First, make sure you have an ILLiad Interlibrary Loan (ILL) account.  Never used ILL?  You should!  ILL is a free service to current students, faculty, and staff and allows you to request materials from libraries worldwide.  It’s fast, too.  Most article or chapter scan requests arrive in one working day (Monday – Friday).  Many physical materials will arrive as soon as five working days but may take longer if the item is difficult to find. ILL allows you to expand your research reach beyond the U of A campus. Complete a one-time ILLiad registration to start.  More about ILL…

Then, request print materials from our local collections using your ILLiad account.

  • You can fill in the ILLiad article request form manually
    or
  • Look for the RazorRush Document Delivery link in the library catalog and now in Index Arkansas.
This option will fill out some or all of the ILLiad article request form for you.
    or
  • If Find it!  can’t locate the full text for you online, look for the link at the bottom of the Find it! page,
    Request a Copy
Request a copy of an Article, Conference Paper, or Chapter
This option will fill out some or all of the ILLiad article request form for you.

You’ll receive an email when your scanned article is ready for you in your ILLiad account.

The Fine Print

  • In a hurry?  RazorRush scans are filled within one working day (Monday-Friday) and many are filled within a few hours. But coming to the library yourself may be the fastest way to get your hands on an article.
  • Articles over 50 pages in length cannot be copied through RazorRush.
  • We’ll do our best but sometimes the volume containing your article is checked out or unavailable or we may not be able to locate your article without additional citation information.
