It’s International Open Access Week! We’re celebrating the many achievements of the Open Access (OA) Movement, an effort to remove financial and legal barriers to make information available to all citizens of the world. Specifically, the Scholarly Communications Team is celebrating the collaborations that advance OA on our campus.

ScholarWorks@UARK, the digital repository showcasing the achievements and contributions of our faculty, staff, and students, opened in 2015. It now hosts 7 open access journals, 6,937 theses and dissertations, 682 concert recordings, 459 patents, and a huge collection of University Records. It also boasts instructional videos on topics ranging from chemistry to design, from history to nutrition – and so much more! Each collection depends on the collaboration of individuals who generously share their work and those who manage the repository behind the scenes.

Visit the repository and discover what we’ve achieved – together – in just eight years. We hope you’ll consider sharing your own work as well. To learn more about OA and many ways you can participate, see the Open Access Library Guide.

If you have questions about ScholarWorks@UARK, please take a look at the User Guides, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the Scholarly Communications Team (scholar@uark.edu).
