Nobel Prize Posters

The CHBC Library has created two posters to highlight the 2020 Nobel prize winners in Chemistry and Physiology or medicine. In addition to highlighting the facts surrounding the prizes, the posters highlight some useful Library resources. These posters are on display in the CHBC Library, linked from the CHBC department television and highlighted on the CHBC Libguides. Panelists Valencia Johnson, Cherisse Jones-Branch, Stace Treat and Joshua Youngblood will offer discussion about the impact of inherent bias on the use of library collections and archives during a virtual Archives Month panel event set for this Friday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.

United Way

The U of A’s annual United Way campaign will run throughout October. This year’s campaign, with the theme “Now More Than Ever,” has a goal of raising $100,000 to help children and families in need. All campaign donations go to the United Way of NWA, and 98 percent of that money goes directly to local programs. A special thank you to all Libraries personnel who have already contributed! According to my most recent weekly update, our donation total is still $840 thus far. Let’s keep it up! Thanks to COVID-19, these donations are needed now more than ever.
