Joshua Youngblood’s Latest Article Published in Archival Issues

Joshua Youngblood’s article, “Following a Trail of Tin Cans: Archival Engagement, ‘Tin Can Tourism,’ and the Internet Life of Historical Images,” appears in the most recent issue of Archival Issues. V 36, no 2. Archival Issues is the semi-annual, peer-reviewed journal of the Midwest Archives Conference with an international readership. Congratulations, Joshua!

Two Libraries’ Faculty Members Honored at Outstanding Faculty Luncheon

Tony Stankus and Luti Salisbury were honored last week at the Outstanding Faculty Luncheon for their appointments to the rank of Distinguished Professor.  Stankus was named Distinguished Professor in 2014 and Salisbury was named Distinguished Professor in 2015.  More information about Distinguished Professor appointments can be found online.

Speaking of Stankus news, today Research Gate reports that over the last year his articles have been viewed 3,005 times, and cited 119 times…….If he knew he was going to get read that much, he says he would have done a better job on them! Congrats, Tony!

Libraries’ Development Team Far Exceeds FY15 Goals

The Libraries Development team worked tirelessly last year and exceeded their FY15 fundraising goal by 273% – the largest overage at the University last year.  Only 8 of 24 units exceeded their FY15 goals and those units that did were visited last week by Chris C. Wyrick, Vice Chancellor for University Advancement. Congratulations and a big thank you to Ben Carter, Sara Sarquist and Dean Allen!

Part of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary celebration includes a fundraising campaign to fund 75 scholarships for ACRL 2015. They’re profiling the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship donors to help others learn why the donors chose to support to the campaign. Our own Dean Allen was featured late last week, and you can check out her profile online.

University of Arkansas Libraries Joins DLF

Judy Ganson reports that twenty-five new institutions joined the Digital Library Federation community in the 2015-2016 membership year, including museums, consortia, and colleges and universities, like us! DLF is a community of practitioners who advance research, learning, and the public good through digital library technologies – it serves as a resource and catalyst for collaboration – and it now totals 134 members, representing an increasingly diverse constituency.
