Special Collections Featured in the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette
An interview with Hillary Clinton from the Roy Reed Papers, a manuscript collection housed in the Libraries’ Special Collections Department, was the focus of a recent article from the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. If you’re on campus, you can read the article through the Libraries’ NewsBank database online.  Reed taught journalism at U of A until his retirement in 1995 and the interview was recorded for an Esquire article that was never published. Some of our collections, including our Digital Collections, were also featured in a Style Section article titled “Archiving Arkansas” (also available through NewsBank here). We’re in good company as the story also highlights the Arkansas State Archives (formerly the Arkansas History Commission), University of Arkansas at Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture at the Arkansas Studies Institute, the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, and the Clinton Presidential Center archives. But, we’re the best.

Training Sessions and Video Available for Summon/QuickSearch

Shout Out (n.) Informal. A message of congratulation, support, or appreciation.
“Shout Out to webmaster Dylan Hurd, who cracked the code to allow LibGuides new Unified Search to work with QuickSearch (Summon). Here’s an example at work. Many LibGuides libraries have wanted to take advantage of this new feature, but had not figured out how to code the queries to work with Summon.  Since we announced our willingness to share, more than a dozen libraries, from Kansas to Canada to City University London, have asked for the code to implement this service on their LibGuides accounts. To quote the Summon product manager, Brent Cook, ‘Very cool.’  Thank you, Dylan!” – Beth Juhl, Web Services Librarian (This is a semi-regular feature for the Tuesday Times. Let your colleagues know how much you appreciate them by giving them a shout out in next week’s edition.)

Shout Out (n.) Informal. A message of congratulation, support, or appreciation.
“I would like to give a shout out to the maintenance staff that performs many of the repairs all over Mullins Library. They are real MVPs and often aren’t given the recognition they deserve. They do a lot to keep the building intact and maintain its function at high level. Last week, they quickly fixed our door so LeeAnna and I wouldn’t have to worry about getting locked in! Thank you!“  – Ariel Romero, Graphic Designer (This is a semi-regular feature for the Tuesday Times. Let your colleagues know how much you appreciate them by giving them a shout out in next week’s edition.)
