HAPI… about Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 – October 15, and Beth Juhl’s latest Database News blog post at 365 McIlroy previews a new resource for the study of Hispanic America and Americans, HAPI.  HAPI (The Hispanic American Periodicals Index) has provided indexing of journals published in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the U.S. since 1970.  Produced by the Latin American Institute of the University of California, Los Angeles, HAPI indexes nearly 400 Spanish-, Portuguese-, and English-language journals such as the Afro-Hispanic ReviewAméricas, and Literature Mexicana. Check it out!

Shout Out (n.) Informal. A message of congratulation, support, or appreciation.

Lisa Lindsey Headstream, Cody Hackett, and Judy Robinson of Serials sent a shout out to David Boddie, Brian Curtis, and Matthew Kelly “for getting the standing workstations into place for eSerials.  We are so grateful and appreciate all the work that went into making the workspaces comfortable and functional.  You guys did it with such a nice flair.   I personally love my new workspace.  It has really improved my productivity, being able to stand really helps when I’m sleepy or sore! I realize these workspaces were not so easily adjusted so double thanks are in order.  So THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!  You really made our day!”
