Jozef and THE MAN

Last Wednesday Jozef Laincz joined eight other faculty members for “Chancellor’s Chat,” a luncheon affording faculty members, selected by drawing, the opportunity to provide feedback and engage in discussion with Chancellor Steinmetz. The hour-and-a-quarter-long discussion was very open and fruitful, and Jozef encourages interested faculty members to throw their name in the hat when the next round is announced.

Staff Senate RazorGifts Program Now Open for Donations

Cedar Middleton reports that the Staff Senate RazorGifts Staff Holiday Gifting Program is now open for donations. Basically, you visit the virtual gift registry, which provides link back to online retailers like Wal-Mart, Amazon, Target, and Kohl’s. Once you have made a purchase, you enter your order number in the registry, and you can either pick up the gift or have it mailed directly to the RazorGifts program on campus. Easy as one, two, three!

Argyle Day is THIS FRIDAY!!

Despite the unseasonably warm weather, I hear it will be cool enough on Friday to shake the mothballs off of your favorite argyle sweater and/or socks and be pleasantly stylish. It’s not mandatory, but everyone is ENCOURAGED to wear their best argyle to celebrate Argyle Day, this Friday, November 18.  Also, for added fun, meet in the west lobby for a group picture at 2:00 pm. I have class at 2, so I hope someone is good with a camera and willing to take the group photo.

Anyone interested in learning more about GIS is welcome to stop by for the open house and/or speakers. Light refreshments will be served.

Please remember to COPY the person or people who are serving as your back-ups in your out-of-office emails to me. It provides not only an excellent last minute confirmation for you, but is also a handy way for me to procure the contact info that I add to each entry. Thank you!
