Help-a-Hog out next week!

Help-a-Hog is a campus-wide event where volunteers man tables and answer questions from students on the first two days of classes for the semester. Questions are typically about how to get to the correct building for their next class. Help-a-Hog spring edition will Tuesday, Jan. 17 and Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the west lobby of Mullins. A volunteer sign-up sheet is posted outside Kathleen Lehman’s office, 220A, or you can email her at kalehman@uark.edu to see what time slots are available. Volunteers work in pairs, so newbies are encouraged to help out, too!

Research Data Management Workshop

Registration is now open for a Research Data Management Workshop hosted by University Libraries April 4-5 in Willard J. Walker Hall, Room 203. On April 4, expert presenters will lead the full-day program “Building Your Research Data Management Toolkit: Integrating RDM into Your Liaison Work,” produced by the Association of College and Research Libraries. On April 5, U of A researchers will hold panel discussions about the challenges of managing data. The program on April 5 will end at noon. Library and information professionals, as well as ITS staff, research office administrators, and others who provide research support services will find this workshop valuable. Thanks to a grant from the Greater Western Library Alliance, this workshop will be offered at no cost. However, seating is limited, so registration is required. Save the Date: Copyright Law for Library Faculty & Staff

Save the date! On Thursday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m., School of Law professor Uche Ewelukwa will give a presentation on copyright for library faculty and staff. This will be held in the Arkansas Union, Room 507.
